Finding Homes for Retired Racing Greyhounds

"Cassie"

Racing Name: Bet Again

Birthdate: July 23, 2009

Gender: Female

Color: Brindle

Weight: 58 lbs

Cassie arrived in Nashville in 2012. Her first day in her foster home, she spooked, pulling the leash out of her foster mom's hand, and ran away. Many people searched for her for months, but she was not found...until now. Five years later, she is finally safe. However, going without basic care, including a monthly heartworm preventative, has left her with a severe case of heartworm disease. UPDATE: Cassie has completed the lengthy treatment, thanks very much to everyone's donations, and is doing well in her foster home. We hope that she will be given a medical release by our vet in the next month or so, so that she can move towards finding her forever home. UPDATE: Cassie has been adopted by her foster mom!

Sadly, we had to let Cassie go to the Rainbow Bridge on June 9, 2021.

Cassie's Pedigree

Jean Marie Webb Memorial and Betsy style Fund

Your donation will be used for the care of a greyhound with special medical needs that likely would not have been able to be adopted otherwise.

As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, your donations is tax-deductible.

The Jean Marie Webb Memorial/Betsy Style Fund was created in memory of a greyhound adopter for the purpose of providing funds specifically for greys with special needs. These are dogs with costly medical needs that often prohibit adoption groups from taking them, due to the additional financial burden. This fund allows us to accept any greyhound into our group, regardless of its medical condition. Due to the generosity of Paul Webb, in loving memory of his wife Jean Marie and in honor of their love of this breed, we are able to take greys that may otherwise be left at the track and not have the opportunity to be adopted into a loving home.
